A few things more . . .
Here are some updates from our prior communication.
a) This one is from me - Matt is too humble a gentleman to make this plea.
As part of our new home arrangements with the Dinosaur Park, we have committed to hosting some gold prospecting/panning/whatever demonstrations for them. Since January of 2025, we have been without a reliable location to meet. While there had been some movement in this direction on our own, the deal was sealed when the Eagles changed their policy - we'd have been out of a meeting place in January 2025 whether we wanted to be or not. Both Brandon and Matt have gone to enormous effort to secure locations for our meetings and having a home at the dino park is the result of both of their continued efforts.
So, if you are at all able to help out this Saturday, Sept. 19, any time between 10:00 AM and 3:00 P.M., please contact Matt ASAP and offer to help out. It would be great if, by the time anyone reaches out, so many club members had already reached out, that your assistance can be rainchecked. Please don't feel like you "don't know enough" or "can't pan" or whatever. I promise - the fact that you feel that way means you already know more about what you don't know about than do the people that will be there. So please, if you can, lend a hand. A great deal of responsibility is shouldered by the NUPA president, let's not let Matt carry this one alone.
b) The can of food program will be for BOTH September and October. So, if you are so inclined, bring two extra cans of food to each meeting in September and October, and at each meeting, you will receive an extra white (door prize) ticket. Please make sure that the cans do not have past dates on them, be they "expired", "best by", "This is a date we put on our can b/c we have to, and even though the food may be good the next day, NUPA can't accept food that has this date in the past", or whatever.
c) Attached is a flyer for the Utah Gold Prospecting Club (UGPC) picnic party this Saturday, Sept. 19.
Heavy pans all,
Dave
